Our Annual Meeting is scheduled for March 6th at 10am and the current plan is to have it both at the church and on Zoom. There will be a proxy voting option for those who feel unable to attend in person. This year, we will be voting on a change in our bylaws, which requires us to post the proposed change in advance. The Zoom meeting id will be the same as used for our regular Sunday services. Please email St. E’s if you need the link.
The vestry is proposing that we change the Senior and Junior Warder positions to Co-Wardens. We feel that having two equal leaders will give us increased flexibility, distribute responsibility more equitably, and better reflect the reality of life at St. Elizabeth’s, where we are more concerned with getting things done than with specific titles and rigid roles. On a practical level, this change will reflect what we have actually been doing for the last several years- adjusting the leadership roles to the skills of leaders rather than the other way around. The specific language that we will be voting on is below. Please take a look at it and reach out with any questions or concerns you may have.
- Motion to change Sr./Jr. Warden to “Co-Wardens”, both with the title of “Warden”. All the duties of the Sr. & Jr. Warden would be determined by both Co-Wardens between themselves and become the joint responsibility of both Wardens. Any term eligibility restrictions on the Jr. and Sr. Warden positions would also apply to the position of “Warden”.
You’re are invited to “Bring Your Own Breakfast” for the Service portion of the meeting – coffee, tea and water will be provided. After the Breakfast and Sunday Service, the Annual meeting will begin, including Vestry reports, Vestry Election, and a vote on the change to the by-laws.
