Intake of the month

Since 2017, St. Elizabeth’s started a monthly donation box for various charitable organizations.  These include:

  • Billerica Food Pantry
  • Wilmington Food Panty
  • Pajama Project
  • Clothing for Homeless
  • School supply donation drive for inner city schools
  • El Hogar month

El Hogar (since 1982)

We continue with our sponsorship of a student at El Hogar Episcopal Orphanage in Honduras.  Our main fund raiser event is the February Bake Sale where the Sunday School children bake and sell sweet treats to members of the church.  Usually this is held around Valentine’s Day as an incentive to buy chocolate and sweets.

We also hold special fundraisers throughout the year for El Hogar, raising as much as $500 a year to assist our assigned student and the mission as a whole.

House of Hope (since 1985)

Each November, we donate and serve Thanksgiving Dinner on the Sunday before to the residents of House of Hope in Lowell Ma.  The House of Hope assists transitioning homeless families into a stable community life by providing tandem services that (1) respect and nurture families so that they can heal from the trauma of homelessness; and (2) support parents by guiding them through opportunities to build economic sufficiency and embrace a stable home life.  This event is always looked forward to by the parish and parishioners often appear to get more from the giving than the residents who are there!
